*** SHALL VOTE TO END THE SEVEN PERCENT SALES TAX ***

Some people say the 7% Sales Tax should be "extended" past the date on which it will expire. "Extending" the 7% Sales Tax past the legal expiration date to serve another purpose isn't just an extension, it is a new tax. Calling it an extension is misleading. Calling it a "penny" tax is misleading too, since this tax costs us millions of dollars every year, not just the mythical "penny."
If a 1% sales tax is just a "penny" in the language of pro-tax propaganda, a 100% sales tax would be just a "dollar" tax. You can afford one dollar can't you? Just one dollar? Just a 100% sales tax on everything you need to buy? No? Well, you probably can't afford that so-called "penny" either since it is really a tax that takes hundreds or thousands of dollars from you every year. Those pennies add up.
